I'd guess the concern is that the gas in the tank is old enough that you wouldn't want to subject the pump to what's left of it. How complete is the car? the tank isn't too hard to remove once the exhaust is down and the driveshaft removed... I know to a normal person, that sounds...

Late to the party, but had to chime in. Welcome back!! Looking at the other threads, you're already neck-deep in maintenance and upgrades. Keep it up! You'll have the kinks ironed out in no time.

My favorite was the guy I was talking to with the "modern" Continental at a car show last summer who noted that the car's computer occasionally looses track of the door handles, but a reboot fixes it. :)
